Furniture Retailers Optimistic for 2020

Furniture retailers are optimistic about the prospects for this year. This is a little surprising considering 2019 was a down year for home furnishings stores as a whole, according to government numbers. The upcoming election, the nervousness of an impending recession settling down, and consistency of trade tariffs have all given furniture store owners reasons to be hopeful. Additionally, consumer spending wages are up. In recent years, consumers have spent more on items such as smartphones and automobiles. However, with those big purchases already fulfilled, more of that disposable income could head to highly deferrable furniture purchases.
