From our phones to our computer screens, we’re all exposed to blue light daily – and plenty of it. According to a 2019 Parade/Cleveland Clinic Healthy Now survey, 47% of respondents said their phone is the last thing they look at before they go to bed. Blue light emitted from electronic screens stimulates the brain while we’re trying to sleep, ultimately waking us up and disturbing our rest. Blue light glasses, which can easily be found online, are a great solution for those times when you know you’re going to spend hours surfing the web or looking at your phone. There may be technical specifications on the glasses that say light wavelengths will be filtered, meaning they’ll be eliminated from your vision, or attenuated, meaning the intensity of the blue light from a device will be reduced.
