Sometimes we just don’t get a good night’s sleep. It happens to the best of us, and most of the time we make some sort of effort to make up for the sleep that was lost. But is that really possible? According to some sleep experts, not exactly. Studies have shown that a lack of sleep can increase the risk of developing depression, cardiovascular problems, Alzheimer’s disease, and other health issues. The fact of the matter is, despite it being a widespread myth, getting extra sleep in an attempt to catch up won’t counteract the effects sleep deprivation has already caused. Read more here.
