Matthew Walker, professor of neuroscience and psychology at the University of California, Berkeley, also serves as the director for the Center for Human Sleep Science. Here he has conducted many sleep studies using the latest techniques and technologies to monitor brain activity.

He has done this to investigate why we sleep and what happens when we do. Currently, he is investigating the possible link between inadequate sleep and the development of Alzheimer's disease. Walker has determined that not getting enough sleep can affect your concentration, memory, immune system, blood sugar levels, appetite, etc., and really wants the world to know that it is essential to their health to have adequate sleep on a consistent basis.
