Sleep is delicate. There are a number of different things we do throughout the day that impacts our sleep at night. Some are positive and some are negative. What we eat and drink each day has a great effect on our rest. If you want to start having better sleep each night, it is recommended to avoid certain foods.
One drink to avoid is alcohol. Alcohol before bed may help you fall asleep quicker, but it disrupts sleep later in the night. Something else to keep an eye on is pizza. Pizza and fried foods are high in fat and take longer to digest. This causes internal comfort that disrupts our sleep cycle. Sweets and desserts should be avoided as well. When we eat these late at night, our blood sugar fluctuates and that makes it difficult for us to stay asleep.
