If you really stop to think about it, we use mattresses quite often. If you keep to a fairly regular sleep schedule, it’s being used in upwards of eight hours a day. So, with as much as it’s being used, how do you keep it clean? It helps to keep food out of your bed in order to avoid spills and crumbs. It’s also recommended to invest in a mattress cover. These can be removed and washed, helping keep your sleep surface nice and clean.
Giving your mattress a deep clean is another way to keep it consistently clean. You should clean your mattress every six months, and you can do this by washing the cover, sprinkling baking soda on the top and letting it sit for five to ten minutes, then vacuuming it off using the upholstery attachment of the vacuum cleaner.
If you have a handheld steamer, this could work just as well as baking soda and a vacuum.
