Is Catching Up On Sleep On The Weekends Possible?


Sleep experts have always preached the benefits of a regular sleep routine. Whether it’s health or personal benefits, there are plenty to be had if you get seven to eight hours of sleep each night.

However, a new study published in the Journal of Sleep Research suggests that if you miss out on sleep during the week, at least some of the associated health risks that come with that can be canceled out by catching up on sleep on the weekends. These findings are based on survey responses from Swedish adults who answered questions about lifestyle habits, medical histories, and average weekday and weekend sleep durations.
