Sleeping Longer vs. Getting Up Early and Working Out


Getting more exercise is something a majority of people wish they did. When someone chooses to start working out, they often consider waking up earlier in order to do so. But is that such a good idea?

When it comes to exercise and sleep, we all need both. Jessica Bailey, a certified fitness instructor in New York City, says “Sleep is the only time where your body can heal and repair your heart and blood vessels. If you sacrifice sleep often, you are increasing your risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and stroke.”

Bailey gives the nod to sleep, meaning you should try to find some other time to work out that doesn’t involve sacrificing sleep.
