A Look Inside Your Typical Mattress Shopper

Better Sleep Council, the consumer-education arm of the International Sleep Products Association, teamed up with Sleep Savvy to create an interactive infographic to provide retailers with helpful, easy-to-understand insight into today’s mattress consumers.

The animated infographic, available for viewing at SleepProducts.org, allows retailers to review consumer statistics and understand the distinctions of shoppers by age and gender.

The infographic analyzes male and female shoppers based on three age brackets: 18 to 34, 35 to 54, and 55 and older. One example of the information provided in the infographic is 60% of younger consumers are side sleepers, 32% want a hypoallergenic mattress, 21% want a firm-edge mattress, 15% could be sold a bed frame, 11% could be sold pillows, and 17% are considering adjustable bases.
