Several companies are now pitching products that are supposed to help give you a better night’s sleep. Whether you should buy into their promises, however, is still up for debate. Apple’s night shift mode is supposed to better transition you for sleep and Nokia has even introduced a mattress sensor to help analyze your sleep patterns. As interesting and innovative as they sound, research has shown that these products designed to give you a better understanding of your sleep are also giving you increased stress and anxiety. Researchers have even given your sleep-related anxiety a name: orthosomnia.
