Flight attendant Kara Mudler has unveiled her tips for better sleep during flights and avoiding jet lag. The main tip she offers is immediately setting watches and phones to the time of the destination. Once that is done, it helps to fall into a normal time routine of eating and sleeping.
If you normally eat dinner at 6 pm and go to bed at 10 pm, eat and sleep when it is those times at your flight’s destination. If meal service is not offered on your flight, Mudler suggests packing healthy granola bars, trail mix, dried fruit, and other snacks similar in nature. She also recommends avoiding foods that cause gastrointestinal distress and overeating.
