Windows and Doors Can Improve Sleep

by Unknown Author -

A study from the Netherlands suggests that leaving a bedroom door or window open at night may help people sleep better. The study found that open doors and windows helped reduce carbon dioxide levels in the room and improve ventilation and air flow. All of these are related to better sleep quality for adults. For one night during the study, 17 volunteers slept with an open window or door and closed them on a separate night. Closed rooms had significantly higher carbon dioxide levels, and skin and bed temperature were higher as well. These factors caused the participants to wake more often as opposed to sleeping with a door or window open.
