Sleep May Be the Biggest Competition for Netflix

The CEO of Netflix recently stated that, among the company’s competitors, sleep is at the top. That’s because most people pay for Netflix and other streaming services together, so the other services aren’t quite competing with Netflix as much as a person’s need to sleep instead of watching “just one more episode.” With people spending 6-8 hours a night sleeping, that’s taking a lot of time away from binge-watching. But Netflix is still working to grow its user base with new programming and better smartphone streaming capabilities, so you can watch your shows on the go and still get your beauty sleep at night.
